Useneye, a 300 level student of the
department of English Education, University of Lagos, and highly
favoured to win the presidential race was kidnapped at an undisclosed
location during accreditation of delegates for the convention.

Baba Razak of the department of Urban and Regional Planning of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, says that news of the kidnapped had heightened tension among the students even as he expressed the fear that the incident may scuttle the convention.
Over 500 student representatives from various institutions across the country had, on Saturday, stormed the office of the State Security Service in Uyo, to protest plans by a government machinery to hijack the
convention.
The students alleged that over the years the convention has been hijacked the power that be, and that they were ready to ensure that the right candidates win this time around.
Razak alleged that as part of the plan by government to hijack the convention, the senators representing various union bodies were left unattended to.
Though he could not confirm whether the kidnap was an attempt to hijack the election, he said the concerned group would ensure that the right candidates emerged if the convention went ahead.
