President Goodluck Jonathan will on Thursday leave Abuja for Bayelsa State to participate in the burial ceremonies of his younger brother, Meni Jonathan, who passed away on November 20.This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Rueben Abati.
Mr. Jonathan will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 8, at his hometown in Otuoke, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.His remains will be conveyed from Abuja to Otuoke on Friday, December 7, and will be received by the Otuoke Council of Chiefs at the Otuoke Community Hall at 2.30 p.m. on the same day.
There will be a Service of Songs for him at the Dame Patience Jonathan Square, Otuoke at 6 p.m. that evening while a commendation service will be held at the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Otuoke at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
He will be interred after the commendation service.
