Airlines across the world have suspended flight operations globally for the purpose of celebrating Christmas today.
The suspension will only affect today’s flights in airports around the world.
Confirming
this yesterday was the managing director of Med View Airlines, Alhaji
Bankole Muneer, who said all airlines, including his own, had decided to
set aside today to celebrate with Christians all over the world the
commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
According to him, it
was assumed that anybody willing to celebrate the Yuletide with his or
her loved ones would have travelled before today.
Passengers, he
said, ought to have known that there would be no flight today. So, a
situation of passengers getting stranded should not have arisen.
The airlines are, however, expected to commence flight operations on December 26.
