The Area F Police Command on Saturday
invited an aunt of Alexandra Ossai, Mrs. Olabisi Jaiyeoba, to get her
statement concerning the loss of Ossai’s pregnancy due to an alleged
kick from her boss, Kaveh Noine.
PUNCH Metro had previously
reported that Jaiyeoba in company with Ossai’s husband, had gone to
Toppan Printing Company, the day after Ossai had lost her baby, to
request audience with Noine.
Jaiyeoba had said they had gone to
inform Noine that Ossai had lost her baby due to the kick Noine had
given to her on her stomach but were denied entrance into the company by
the security guards.
She was accompanied to the police
command by Ossai’s lawyer, Mr. Courage Erhuen, who had earlier filed
several petitions on her behalf to the Lagos State Command, the Zone Two
Police Command, the Inspector General of Police and the National Human
Rights Commission at Ikeja.
SUNDAY PUNCH gathered that the police had invited Jaiyeoba to take down her statement.
The Public Relations Officer of the
Lagos State Public Advice Centre, Mr. Alex Omorondion said, “The police
just took Jaiyeoba’s statement and told her to come back on Monday.”
Meanwhile, Noine who was arrested on
Friday was said to be in custody at the Area F Police Command at the
time of filing this report. He was arrested in Kano where he had fled
for safety after learning that Ossai had lost her seven month pregnancy.
Presently out of the hospital, Ossai is said to be recuperating at home.
There was no response from the Lagos
State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ngozi Braide, as calls and a
text message to her phone, went unanswered.
